    XDCam import tab missing???

    Hi

I've attached a PDW-U1 to my MacPro, updated to v3.5.4 and installed Sony's drivers. The PDW-U1 comes up on the desktop and clips are viewable in the Sony XDCam Transfer software.

What I can't do is import the files into MC. Under settings/import there is no XDCam tab. I've checked on an MC v4 trial I'm running on a MacBook and the XDCam tab is missing there too.

I successfully transferred XDCam HD422 files on a Windows MC 3.5.4 last weekend and I have no problem editing XDCam HD422 projects on my MacPro, so what am I doing wrong?

If anyone can help I'd be very very grateful.

    Cheers!

    Rodney

I believe you need to turn off ama volume access in settings to allow xdcam import dialogue

That is correct. Disable AMA in your user settings, and the XDCAM import tab will re-appear in the Import options window. You will need to close and re-launch the application for it to take effect, both when disabling and later re-enabling AMA.

Thanks. The XDCam Tab is now available (both in Settings/import and under Import/Options)... but...

I am unable to import XDCam clips. THe finder recognises the disc. I can navigate to the .mxf files. I can import the proxies (one at a time...) but cannot import hires footage nor import the disc.

I've copied a disc to a harddrive and tried importing from it but had no luck.

When I attempt import from prodisc or from harddrive via "file/import XCDam proxy" I get the warning "no XDCam volume found". On the finder there is an XDCam volume. I've attempted importing from several different camera discs, including discs that have been successfully imported on a Windows MC system. None work.

Tried all the different possibilities on the XDCam Settings tab. Changes nuffin...

Working in a 1080p/25 project with XDCam HD422 50MBps discs (also tried to import in new projects and at 1080i/25).

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

Problem seems to be solved. I installed the wrong PDW-U1 driver. Now with PDW-U1_v2_21 it's importing. Job saved!!!

    Driver downloaded from http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-xdcam/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-micro-xdcam-downloads-XDCAMSoftwareDownload.shtml
