It's been requested before, but I'll do it again...
1. Alpha support in Pan and Zoom
2. Rotation (Z-axis/Spin at least)
Alpha would be super helpful... Rotation would be nice.

My opinions are my own.
Dylan's Templater - Basic Avid project templating tool.BatchFuze - MetaFuze batch transcoding tools.
For me both requests 1. and 2. in available in Avid FX and request 2. is in BCC Pan and Zoom.
Could be wrong but I seem to remember P & Z like Plasma wipes originally came about predominantly as spare time projects by Avid employees. So not sure how much development it will get.
Thanks for the continued dongle support
Sadly we don't have Avid FX... I've never tried the BCC pan and zoom, but I will keep it in mind.
Dylan,
You right, both those features have been requested before. It's strange how 2 small improvements would make P&Z a kick-ass effect, but without them you have to go into external plugs - and of course learn a new UI. Both AvidFX and BCC are great, but then you have to have them in the Offlines as well. Can't tell you the amount of times I've had to rebuild rough-outs made in DVEs because they wanted to rotate a little.
Feature seconded!

Applying pan and zoom to moving footage would be even nicer.

Yeah I hope Avid finds a methodology for incorporate HD footage at native scale into an SD project sometime soon. It's an increasingly common demand for us.

Mr Difficult posted this HD to SD via Avid FX. (Not sure why you dont have Avid FX with 3.5.4)
Open the shot you want in the source window and mark in/out the part you want. Then create a subclip of it by dragging it from the source window to the bin. Then create a QT reference of that shot onto your desktop (or where ever). Then switch the project over to 30i. Now cut the shot you want into the timeline (this is just for a placeholder). Drop a Boris Red (or Avid FX or Boris FX) 1 input effect onto the shot. Open the effect editor and open the Boris interface. In the Boris timeline click on the V1 icon to change track media to Movie File. Navigate to the QT reference you created and choose it. Then when it comes into Boris it will still be HD size. You can now pan and scan it all you want without losing resoluton. Hit apply to return to the avid timeline and render.

I'm pretty sure all out licenses have simply been upgraded from much earlier (maybe even version 1) before Avid FX shipped. Software upgrades don't include the additional stuff. That said, I imagine we probably do have at least a couple of copies somewhere but they're definitely not installed.
That workflow seems relatively simple, but something a little more 'native' would still be nice.

3. Option to disable timeline warning about missing photo file- especially if it is rendered already.

I also think it would be good if there was an overlay that said when the filter "preview" you are looking at is not in fact the final quality, i.e. Avid Ultra Draft.

And I'll do it again! Not that hard Avid but sure would be useful. The current effect is clearly very buggy so while you're fixing that up, please consider this. I think it's a much needed native effect.
