we had to reinstall our os xp sp2 do to a virus from our network.  did a total format to wipe it out.  after reinstalling avid media composer adrenaline hd v.2.2.5, the computer will reboot on it's own when mc is open.  it is an hp xw8000.  it will sit there all day with just the os running, but, when you fire off mc after about 20 to 40 seconds it reboots.  I have done all the special settings avid recommends for performance.  you don't have to be doing anything with the mc program just have it open.  it goes through the process of loading fine.  I have noticed in the event viewer that an error saying avid startup service has terminated unexpectedly is there, if that is happening right before the reboot I don't know.  this is the second hard drive I have tried.  I desperatly need some help.

If you don't have Avid brand drives attached, you can disable the Avid Startup Service.

at the present time I have the computer on the workbench in the shop without the avid drives attached.  That may be why this error occurs.  But, the computer keeps rebooting on it's own when media composer is open
