Hi, it’s me Russell from Bangladesh. I’m not regular avid user. But I’m now working with a 35mm film project. Today my client gives me some telecined .ale file. Now I’m confused with this data. The .ale file contain this heading,
Heading
FIELD_DELIM TABS
AUDIO_FORMAT 44 kHz
TAPE BOX01
FPS 25
VIDEO_FORMAT PAL
FILM_FORMAT 35 mm
and VA1A2 track.
Then I’m confused to decide which project type should be select. 24p pal film project or 25i pal with matchback film project for proper audio sync ? where we transfer audio to dat audio. Pleas help me….
You should ask your client what has been the shooting speed.
If it's a 24 fps shooting, you need to create a 24p pal film project. If it's a 25p fps shooting then create a 25p pal film project.

T.
What was the film shot at? Are you getting sync dailies? From the VA1A2 description it sounds like it has been synced during transfer. If that is going to be your final audio, then I would do a 25p with matchback. If you plan on syncing dailies from production audio, and it was shot 24fps, then you want to be in a 24p project type.
