I have installed all the software for Avid Xpress Studio HD, including the Pro Tools LE that came with it. I installed the drivers for the Digidesign 002 that came with it. I have inserted the dongle and the iLok device as instructed, then when I go to open Pro Tools so I can validate and authorize the iLok device the system crashes and reboots every time I attempt to open the Pro Tools. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?
I am working on an HP xw-8400 Workstation with the standard system requirements stipulated by Avid. The software installation went smoothly - including the loading for the 002. Once I reboot the computer then try to open Pro Tools LE so I can authorize the software using the iLok device, it simply crashes and reboots the computer...I know this is porbably something simple, but I'm a newbie to this and have tried everything I can myself to resolve this issue...can anyone help?
First I would go to iLok.com and make sure your ilok contains the appropriate licenses, etc.

Btw...does Pro Tools open without the iLok? The iLok is only for specific plugins...the 002 acts as the dongle for Pro Tools itself...
Also...this thread may be useful as well:

No the Pro Tools does not open at all. With or without the iLok it crashes and reboots the computer. Do yo uthink I should also find some updated drivers for the 002 since it works like the dongle for Pro Tools. My Avid is version 5.2.
I would only use the digi driver for your specific version of Pro Tools. I would uninstall Studio and then do a fresh install of Pro Tools alone... focusing on getting Pro Tools working before proceeding with the other installs.
I will do that right now and let you know how it turns out. I have identified the specific version of the Pro Tools and will obtain the most updated digi driver for it. I'll keep you posted. Thanks a million for getting me headed in the right direction.
Hey, I've found and uploaded the updated iLok drivers needed to stop the crashing problem with Pro Tools, but I've yet to find an updated driver for the Digi 002 itself. Do you know of a link where the updated driver for the 002 compatible with Pro Tools LE v 6.5.3r2? If one exists and I can load it then reload the Pro Tools software and install the 002 it may work. I've gotta find a solution fast so I can start cutting this time-sensitive footage. Any further advice before I attempt to re-install.
I not only uninstalled the Avid, I also did a full hard drive system restore back to the factory level, and re-installed the prerequisites needed to load the Xpress Studio HD. So now I'm working with a blank canvass again and hoping to get it right on this installation attempt.
I was happy to see, via your other thread, that you have resolved these issues.
