Do you know if the production suite work with MC 3.1?

Any GUI updates?  Not that it isn't already awesome... lol

I wish we could get some screenshot action on the new releases.. I need something to stare at instead of working before my copy arrives.

Rich, I do not know if the new versions are compatible with 3.1 but I've sent an email to the product guys to ask.

Be back when I find out.

Is there a way to buy the Production Suite without the hardcopy manuals? Or at least some way to donate/return them after I receive them? I just use the online documentation when I need it and would prefer not to waste all that paper on manuals I won't use :)

Yes, you can buy the third party apps and use them with the academic version.

Just to be sure ... I know I can buy them and use them with Avid, but can I buy the Avid Media Composer Production Suite?

Only starting to work with the softwre now..but I must say..being able to mix my frame rates is an absolute GOD-SEND. It's soooo clean.

In the MC4.02 readme the latest macOS is ver 10.5.7 but on the web site it has 10.5.8. can i go to 10.5.8?

The link takes me to the home page of the store.  If you want to buy the 3rd party application suite, it will work with your MC 3.x versions.  I am getting clarification now on how far back.

You can also obtain then by buying the upgrade to 4.0 but academic must order through Avid as they need to verify your academic status.

I've registered my V3.5 edu Media Composer software that I just bought in August 2009, but so far, cannot find a way to upgrade to V4 (for free) as stated below.

Did avid take away the compressor audiosuite plugin. i used that one a lot and with the upgrade it's gone. there is only the Compressor/Limiter Dyn 3 plugin now.

Unfortunately folks, meridien based systems are not eligible to upgrade.   You can upgrade an XDV system, a Xpress Pro system or a 3.5 and lower MC system but meridien is not included.   It wont work.
