Can BLKDOG or another moderator with knowledge tell us if ver 4 will make better use of multiple processor machines than past versions?

He answered to me the same question to my thread:

Most of the processing is shared between the processors and the Video Card. With each relationship that load will shift back and forth but the process are still getting everything that is required of them at this point. I have not seen a significant change in processor load with 4.x.

I may have missed this but....

Is it possible to upgrade from 3.5 to 4. with production suite on download only?

 I want to include the production suite but  then the cost of shipping to far flung places like South Africa can add almost 50% onto the overall cost.

Can I upgrade for download only the new MC4 with production suite?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't know of one.  As far as I'm aware, the production suite is all physical CDs and manuals and whatnot, and isn't available for download.

I don't know if it'd make it any cheaper, but you could buy the MC 4 upgrade via download, and buy the production suite separately.  The price works out roughly the same as if you'd purchased the combined physical kit, but you won't have the added weight of the MC manuals, so the shipping might not be as bad.  Sorry I don't have any better ideas (there's no reseller in South Africa?).

Hi Neil, It seems that the cost of the boxed upgrade and the download upgrade + third party apps is the same, as the third party apps is not a downloadable package You'll have to pay for shipping anyway...

Thanks for the feedback and the options, I will look into the option of buying the production pack separately.

There is an SA reseller and I have mailed them for pricing, but it may be that the split option is better.

Hi Neil,

The Production Suite is only available via a Physical Shipping Kit.  Due to royalties and all that jazz, they are not available as a download.  They have to be shipped.
