I have no problem creating ALE compatible files from within word.

It seems to be make more sense to do them from within EXCEL though.

No matter what options I use I cannot get AVID Media Composer to see my excel created ALE's

Avid Log Exchange sees them and I created my template by exporting an existing bin as an ALE and opening it as Tab Delimited in excel.

Anyone got any ideas??

I do not even use Word as I use a text editor, mainly notepad that is in windows by default, what I miss the most in notepad when working with ALE files is column selection, a google search for "text editor with column selection" (with no quotes) gave me quite a few results, among others LINK 1 and LINK 2. hth
