Don't know how many of you "out there" that uses this utility, and have noticed that since installing v.10.1.2. it doesen't work any more. It starts up with an error dialogue that suggest you get in contact with Microsoft. Lo and behold. At least it did that in our two installed xw8600's.Whatever was installed (or not installed) with version 10.1.1 was Ok, but not with 10.1.2.This may be old news, but anyway, when I went into the supportpages I found that there were an update version of "DS Archive Backup" there, from 06-2009.http://aviddssupport.avid.com/index.htm?section=download/utilities.htm&sub=utilities/all.htmDownloaded and installed, and now it's working again. And I couldn't see any size or date changes to the exe-file but the xml-file increased in size, so I guess the trouble came from there. So if you haven't noticed any problem with DSAB, or already "upgraded", ignore this, otherwise download and install.//mike
Yes, it was an unfortunate code compiling error that went unnoticed up to this update release.
When we found this, we posted the fixed utility on the website.
Note that all of the Avid DS 10.2 tools have been checked fully to avoid this issue.
