Hello,
I shot an entire story with a Canon 5DMKII as the SX cam broke down on the spot. Now I need to edit with the material in Newscutter for broadcasting on tv. I've been searching for decent workflows;but no luck. Can you please help us?
Tx,
Tom
Never tried this, but I believe the Canon saves video as H264 .MOV files.
Surely you can connect the camera to your workstation and import the .MOV files and away you go.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it should be relatively straightforward.
Did you shoot in HD or SD with the CANON?
You could use MPEG Streamclip to convert from h264 (canon) into an Avid codec or standard Quicktime codec
I personally just import the Quicktimes from the camera into Avid as DNxHD and go.
Here's a blog post I wrote on the 5D. Might be helpful.
