Anyone else using this or similar workflow? We are and I would love to swap experiences.
we are using XT2, XT Access and IPD to push material in and out via TM so far pretty successfully. What questions do you have?
Have you ever tried modifying the timecode of a clip from EVS in Avid? Doesn't seem to work.
Avid, FCP, EVS, Tape, whatever.

Sorry i have not tried this, we are very dependant on the original timecode of the clips.
If you are in an Interplay environment, *and* you have enabled Dynamic Relink, then you really can't modify the timecode of your Master Clips.

Thanks. If I disable, modify, reenable am I looking for trouble? (I occasionally need dynamic relink to actually relink to media that appears offline, rather than different resolutions).
Further testing shows that I can modify TC on a non-EVS sourced clip, but not on an EVS sourced clip. Doesn't seem to break dynamic relink, but there is only one instance of the clip anyway (I have to use dynamic relink to relink offline media - we only work at DNX120).
Reason I want to modify TC: It doesn't tie up MC if I digitise ENG tapes via EVS. Unfortunately that means that the TC on the ingested clips are TOD not tape TC. On EVS you can have it display the SDI TC rather than TOD, but when the clip comes to Avid it still has TOD. and there isn't an option on XFile to override that (there is on XTAccess I think).
Are you not able to grab the TC from the tape using the LTC input on the EVS? That is how we match TC to our other record devices.
Unfortunately LTC in is used for Live inputs - not sure how popular I would be if I overpatched it ;-)
