Hey, guys.
I'm in a debate over something. I've been told by a company (keep in mind, a company renting me equipment) that MC 3.5.1 and above REQUIRES Avid Unity 5.1....which is a significant upgrade in cost to us.
Now, from what I understtand of how this all works, that doesn't makes sense to me. Did Avid recode the new MC to only interact with the latest version of Unity?
THanks!
No.

Thank you very much! I win. :)
However, running MC3 on Vista 64-bit requires that you use the 5.1 client to hook up to the Media Network (even if that is v4).
To clarify... We're on all Mac OS x 10.5 Avids, and one Win XP Symphony Nitris. Does that's matter?
We're running 3.5.2 on all (minus the Symphony... Not sure what version that is, and we're currently finishing something or I'd go check)
It's described in detail in the ReadMe file for your version.
When I check the compatibility chart for 3.5.4 it shows that:
Media Network client versions that are supported under Leopard are v5.1, 5.1.2 , with Media Network Server version v4.1.6, v4.2.4, v5.0.1, and v5.1, v5.1.1.
On XP32, MN Client versions v4.1.6, v4.2.4, v5.0.1, and v5.1, v5.1.1, v5.1.2 are supported for use with MN Server versions v4.1.6, v4.2.4, v5.0.1, and v5.1, v5.1.1.
Hmmm... I appreciate your input. What did you search for to find that? I've been searching the help file, and as usual, I get nothing even close to what I'm looking for.
Looks like I may lose after all! Good to learn something new.
