I know I've already posted one today however I am completely miffed on this next issue. Someone solve this and I'll owe you an entire bar tab!
If you're familiar with my previous post you know we just upgraded to Interplay 1.6, we've also changed our workflow a bit and implemented the use of restricting User Access to certain folders. These have worked out great as producers/editors only have access to the folders they need.
The setup for each user group is as follows:
- Login to Interplay Administrator and access User Roles.
- All groups are assigned "No Access" as general access.
- Each group is then assigned special access folders within the database to which they'll have read/write rights.
- A user is placed in each group as a generic access to that entity.
Like I said, quite simple. However the following occured when I logged into my Symphony under a specific User (just like above) and attempted to restore clips (masterclips & subclips) from the archive. Once the job is submitted within Media Services, I go to check it's status and it gives me an error regarding "Unable to created path...." or "Unable to login with username/password, user rights does not permit".
Now before I continue, you should know that all Users submit all Media Services jobs using the same Username and Password. I've identified that the Media Services login is not the issue.
The issue comes to when I log into Interplay to begin with, for some reason when I log as User A that can restore from the Archive no problem. When I log as User B I can submit the job to Media Services but get the same error as listed above.
I've compared both User Groups for User A & B, matching User B in every way to User A and still it won't work.
I've taken User B and placed it under User's A setting and that will restore no problem.
I've deleted User B's Access Group and recreated an entire new group from scratch, re-assigning its "Special Access Folders" and it's "Instinct/Assist User Settings" and still when I assign User B to that new group, the error will still pop up.
What else am I missing? Does any one have any other troubleshooting I can do? I've literally tried everything.
Did you also assign read rights on the AvidAM Database?
