    digital cut: sync problems

Hello, I finished editing my film project in Avid Xpress and now I want to burn it directly from avid to external DVD, that I connected to my PC. I'm using digital cut, and everything seemed ok, but I after burning 13 minutes, I lost sync. Does anyone know, what am I doing wrong?

My external DVD is Panasonic DMR-EH55, and its connected to PC with Fire Wire cable.

please, if you have any idea, help!

    Re: digital cut: sync problems

    not at all:(

we really read all your recommendations in other topics on this forum but nothing helped

we where so desperated and angry that finally after few days of fighting with Avid, we recorded first half of project on the tape (less then 13minutes, because problem started after 13minute in EVERY project), then after pushing pause and play again we recorded second half of the project on tape and used another editing program (adobe premiere) to capture those 2 parts and put it together! and in Adobe premiere we had no single problem with losing sync..

do you have any ideas, what the problem with Avid is? I not only loose sync but the voice/audio starts to sound 'metalic' after those magic 13 minutes..

    Re: digital cut: sync problems

    Hi There,

I have had a kinda similar problem for a long time now with digital cut to tape via firewire stopping after 15 minutes . . I won't go into it but will let you know this morning that I have been trying to Digital cut a 2 hour 34 minute timeline which stops every 15 minutes !! anyway tried loads of changes to settings and finally looked in the audio project settings and changed the dv pattern to locked audio .. its now been playing for about 40 minutes and my fingers are tightly crossed !

Might be worth trying next time you encounter this problem.

    best of luck !
