keeping the video quality settings on full quality

    Hi all,

we've just installed a brand new avid on a workstation in our new SNG. But we've got a few problems. One of them is that the video quality setting in our timeline keeps changing back to yellow/green (not full quality). We want it to stay in full quality (the full green button). How can we keep this? I know it's a project setting and the problem is that our editors make new projects everyday, so it keeps on chaning back. Is there a way to keep this fixed. The hardware is a hp xw8600 combined with a mojo SDI and newscutter version 7.5. If anyone can help us.

    thx in advance.

Re: keeping the video quality settings on full quality

    Hi,

    Is the NC software only?

I have fought with this one before on a HP8710 laptop. The conclusion I came to in the end was that if the NC is software only it will always default to draft quality.

I may be wrong but here is the basis for my conclusion:

We have several NC/MC running on various workstations (8600/8400/8200) as well. All the ones with DNA hardware (Mojo/Nitris DX/Adrenaline) 'wake up' in full quality mode. The laptops as well as 2 other NC (one with no hardware attached the other with a firewire deck attached - no DNA) 'wake up' in draft quality.

I searched quite a while for a setting for this, but no joy. It really annoys the camera edits in the field as sometimes they dump stuff back to tape to feed from SNG or other feed point and this has caught them out on occasions.

As I say I may be wrong and somebody may know of a setting for this.
