Has anyone tried installing and running Avid Media Composer on Windows 7 (Beta or RC1) with any degree of success?

I'm not doing any heavy lifting, but it works for me (RC).

I know it's speculative at this point, but based on history (I'm thinking Vista), how long after Win7's launch (I believe I heard October) before we see qualified systems from Avid?
Presumably Avid has already done/is doing Win7 testing right now.
Win7 does indeed seem to work except with DNA, unless anyone else has any news on this? I tried with Mojo SDI on both the x64 Beta and RC and it could not load the flamethrower driver.
Given Win7 is a fantastic improvement on old man vista, and its been avalilable to evaluate for ages, one would hope Avid are really on it this time for immediate certification on release.
Oddly MC (software only) works on my laptop in Windows 7, but not in Vista. The issue for me is the graphics driver. In Vista I have the OEM supplied driver for my non-NVidia chipset, in Windows 7 I seem to have an MS supplied one. Long and short of it is that video playback (overlay) is possible in Windows 7 for me, not in Vista.
But again, I've only used it for pretty simple stuff.

And before all new users are starting to run their editing sys on a beta OS, are you all having fw connections in and out of MC?

give us the iso files back in Avid Dvd please, no gi files for me
I’ve been using win 7 RC 64 since it was released. MC 3.13 runs perfectly, FW works for HDV capture, but I don’t have a mojo.
I have MC 3.5.1 (software only) running on W7RC 64bit without any problem.

This is all very good feedback, thank you. :)
I have an original Mojo that I will eventually try connecting to Avid on Win7.
I can´t work with MC in windows seven with the latest driver for nvidia 9600 gt graphic driver, only by driver microssoft. But don´t run video, must have nvidia drive for work. ? Thanks

These cards aren´t likely to work well even with a certified OS, do a search at the forum

MC 3.5.4 on Win 7 RC x64 with updates on HP z800.
Original MOJO analog is not supported at all, and based on my reading of the z800 config data from Avid, it is that way by design (also won't work on the z800 required Vista Business x64 OS). Supposedly, with appropriate FW card in slot one, you can run Mojo DX, but I don't have one to test that with. Analog Mojo won't work with the card or either of the native FW ports. The first time I connected it, Win 7 started a PnP install, but then BSOD'd and pointed at Flamethrower.sys.
In another partition on the same machine I am running XP x86 (32 bit) SP3 + hotfixes with MC 3.1.3 and it will run with Mojo Analog if you use the front-panel IEEE-1394 port on the z800. I haven't tested with MC 3.5.4 on XP 32-bit on this machine, because I don't want to activate my 3.5.4 since I have no need for SDI input, so it seems silly to spend $1,000 bucks to get a Mojo SDI for 64-bit OS support (which seems the main issue) nor do I see myself spending $8,000 for a Mojo DX (more than the z800 with dual quads, 8GB and 4 TB of media storage cost me...).
I have not tried 3.1.3 + Mojo on Win 7 x64 or 3.5.4 + Mojo on Win XP x86, so I'm not sure if Mojo Analog will work with 3.5.4. or if it will work with Win 7 at all.

WINDOWS 7 X64 + DNA HARDWARE WARNING:
After running tests described in a previous post, I put Mojo back on its original machin with which it had been working for years with WinXP, Xpress and MC. Now that machine cannot find or regcognize Mojo. Here is my best guess at what happened:
On my first attempt with Windows 7 x64 RC + updates on an HP z800, front IEEE-1394 port everything started out normal. At power up the power light came on, followed by all lights on for an instant, then all but the power light went out, the 48KHz light came on, the DV light flashed for an instant, then the Host light came on. The machine started through the new hardware found wizard, and I selected auto install as we are instructed to do in Avid install docs. The OS correctly identified the unit as an Avid DNA Mojo, began the driver install process then BSOD'd with indeterminant error code.
Subsequent to that point, any attempt to connect Mojo to the z800 - either of its native ports or at the port on an Avid recommended 1394 PCIe card resulted in this Mojo power up sequence: Power light, all lights momentary, 48Khz light then comes on and stays on. If a BB is hooked to the ref in, Mojo will recognize it and the Ref light will come on. That's it. The host light never shows, and the machine cannot find it as an attached device, not even an "unknown" device.
This latter behavior is the same on the z800 in Windows 7 RC 64 with MC 3.5.4 or Win Xp x86 SP3 with MC 3.1.3 or my long-running HP xw8000 Win xp x86 SP3 with MC 3.1.3.
MY THEORY: When the z800 BSOD'd it splattered the IEEE-1394 ports with gibberish, some of which just happened to unlock the Mojo firmware and allow portions which deal with the host interface to be overwritten with trash. Now, the Mojo has be made into a fancy door-stop by Windows 7.
Since the newly published z800 config docs indicate that DNA hardware will not work with Vista Business x64, that minimum HW is a Mojo SDI, I think it is safe to say that attempting to hook ANY DNA HARDWARE to at least a z800 with a 64-bit OS and MC 3.5.x will render the DNA hardware permanently inoperable.
