I'm trying to work with MXF clips that were originally shot as AVCHD clips and then rewrapped with MainConcept's transcoder. I can use Import Clips to Bin to generate master clips, and they play fine, but they still reference the MXF files that live in their own folder on the drive (Avid calls their drive a "virtual drive"). If I quit Avid and start it up again, the master clips are still there but everything's offline. I have to reimport the clips to see anything.
When I try to use IMPORT P2 > MEDIA, nothing happens. Nothing at all. Anyone know what's going on? Media Tool doesn't work, of course, because the clips aren't in the AvidMediaFiles/MXF/1 folder, and anyway when I try to look for master clips for this project Avid's "CM_NO_TRACKS_FOUND" error pops up.
Please help!
First of all, use : File / Import P2 / Clips to Bin instead of Media
Media is for selected sequences, clips, etc and start a consolidate process.
You need to select the root folder. You can even put multiple P2 cards in a main folder and import them all by selecting the main folder.
But you will need to reimport the folder every time you reopen MC. I don't know why!
