MC 3.5.1 Playback & AMA issues

    Hi,

I'm having a few issues with workflow and general performance of MC 3.5.1 using AMA for XDCam HD footage. Initially the job was set up by another Avid tech so im sort of working backwards in trying to find a solution, but here goes:

Long story short the clients were having performance issues (not surprisingly) working off the USB harddrive so when I returned from holidays the first thing we did was consolidate the media to our (fast) media storage. This solved a whole lot of performance problems - except for the main one....

Occasionally at very sporadic intervals when playing back a sequence the editor will attempt to stop (using spacebar) playback but it continues playing. If the spacebar is continually pressed (which often happens from frustration) then these commands seem to 'cache' and finally when the Avid catches up it will start & stop according to how many times the space bar has been pressed.

This does not seem to be related to our XDCam workflow - as old projects using the MXF media format are having the same issue...but i thought i would mention this anyway to give some background on the job.

Appears to be more of a bug then a simple config issue....?

Is this something anyone else has come across or a known bug that Avid are working on?

OK - uninstalling the latest Wacom driver and reinstalling 6.05 seems to have corrected this.

Yup ... back-reving the Wacom driver would have been my 1st suggestion.  Good work figuring that out!

    Media Composer 3.5.9/4.0.2 w/Mojo (analog), HP xw8400, 1xQC 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM, FX 3700, 1TB Boot, 1 x 1TB & 1 x 500GB internal SATA media drives, 3-Ware... [view my complete system specs]
