Setting up a dual display system: want Composer and Timeline in my primary display (with menu bars) -- how to?

Running 3.5.1 MC on Leopard with an ATI 4870 dual display setup.

I have my primary display (with Finder menu and dock) in front of me and my secondary display slightly off to the right of me. This works well for all my applications including the CS4 suite and Final Cut Pro.

With Media Composer, the default screen settings shuttle the Composer and Timeline windows to the secondary display, off to my right.

I'd like the two default MC arrangements to be "swapped" such that the Composer and Timeline appear on my primary display.

I understand that I can save my screen settings, but Avid doesn't seem to intelligently arrange its dialog boxes and other palettes accordingly. They just sort of seem to .... appear anywhere. Coming from FCP, I've grown accustomed to having tidy layouts, which is critical with 24" displays -- no one like to go hunting and pecking for those dialog box and palette buttons.

Does anyone have any tips for this relative newbie on how to make my setup closer to my liking?

    Thanks.

Look at the the Toolsets pull-down menu for some window arrangements for different functions.

You can pick a toolset, arrange your windows the way you like them and save the current toolset.

Another approach is Workspaces. You can set up many workspaces - arrangements of tools or windows placed where they work best for you. Workspaces can be assigned to hotkeys and brpught up quickly.
