Hiya, I am having an unusual problem.
I am working with Avid Metafuze, transcoding R3D files. My transcode settings are DnXHD 120 Iso 1280 and Quarter good quality. The media is transcoding to a unity drive - the destination folder is M:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1\
After the transcode I am exporting an ALE file to the desktop and then reimporting it into a bin in Avid - however, when I go ro relink, the media remains offline. Could someone please help.
Cheers, Mark
How are you attempting to relink? Ive found that relinking according to specific resolution usually does the trick. Try setting the specific resolution and the drive the media is on.
Deselect the option "relink to current project only" or something along those lines.
oh yes, that usually does the trick.
Also, for now, you don't need to export/import/relink ALE's. You can simply open the Media Tool, grab the clips and drag them into a bin. Currently, the ALE does not carry any more metadata than the MXF file itself does.
Thanks for your help. It turns out that the problem was that because I had manually created the subfolders Avid Mediafiles/MXF/1 there was no media database, so that the masterclips didn't appear in the media tool. I wiped my media drive and brought in a test pattern so that avid created the directory structure and according the media daabases needed to catologue the MXF files. It works as it should now.
Thanks for your help.
Mark
If you had created Avid Mediafiles/MXF/1 I'm not surprised. If you had created Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 yourself, it should have worked. I've done this in the past with no issues.
