Are you using old projects from the Win XP installation?  If so, you now have a new Administrator.  The new Administrator doesn't have ownership of your old files.  You need to reset the permissions and ownership.  You can do it quite easily by adding the following Registry Mod to your system ...

Once this has been done, you can right-click anyhwere, and you'll have a new option "Take Ownership".  You shoul do this on your Avid Projects folder and maybe also the Avid User folder.

BTW, the product is Avid Symphony Nitris.  There is a separate product naemd Avid Nitris DS.  Confusing naming?  you betcha!
