Bear with me, learning DS....
1. Using the outsource effect...
I need image0001.ext, image0002.ext, etc.
Tried this example from DSwiki, filename.[x;y].tif, but ends up with image0.3[0.3].ext, etc.
Any ideas...
2. Also how can i view an image sequence (actually DSLR stills) in Avid Explorer without it "collapsing" or showing all the file as one clip, I know I can capture or link and choose "no" to import them individually, but how can I view/select them individually before importing.
3. Are there shortcuts to jump to the begining/end of an effect, not the clip or in-outs.
Many thanks

You're close - "filename[0001..9999;4].ext"
I like to do it this way "filename_[0001..9999;4].ext" The underscore gives a bit of seperation between the fileanme and all the numbers.
The 0's are place holders until the count gets that high. The 9's are the highest it will go. The 4 is the number of places.
Once you get to the point in Avid Explorer that shows the images as one seq, double click on them again, it will now expand to show them individually.
HTH,
Tom
And if you forget Tom's syntax one late night.. open up DS help, search "padding zero", and cut-n-paste the syntax from there ;-)
d.
Thanks for the replys.
Its the fact that it needs TWO decimals in between the start and end frame numbers that was catching me out.
So obvious about expanding image seq's in Avid explorer, the icon is even a folder, duh.
Any shortcuts to go to the start and end of effects? Anyone...
"filename[0001..9999;4]
You can also just type "filename[1..;4]"
It does the same thing as Tom's version.

You can use the shortcuts for first and last keyframe. "alt - left arrow" and "alt - right arrow"
mrmikster: You can use the shortcuts for first and last keyframe. "alt - left arrow" and "alt - right arrow"
Thats the ticket, MUCH quicker.
Thanks all.
