    Alternate Video Cards

    Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone's had any success, installing an alternate video card to drive the source/record monitor?  I know that people have installed other cards for the bin monitor, but haven't heard anyone speak of replacing the source/record graphics card.

    Anyone?

The reason I ask is that I'm getting a slightly nasty shimmer around areas of detail and contrast in windows, which I don't get if I move the window to the bin monitor.

On an urelated matter, I really do prefer working on these Meridien Media Composers to Adrenaline's...  Absolutely rock-solid performance (I've been driving this one hard for a month now, and it hasn't once fallen over), and really responsive too (I couldn't stand that lag on Adrenaline boxes).

    Cheers,
    Chris

For the sake of clarity, it's a PC Meridien Media Composer V12.5

    Re: Alternate Video Cards

The Source/Record monitor is driven by the Avid EDC, a proprietary board that the Meriddien software works with.  So, no, I don't think I've "ever" seen an alternative, nor is it likely to work.

    Media Composer 3.5.9/4.0.2 w/Mojo (analog), HP xw8400, 1xQC 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM, FX 3700, 1TB Boot, 1 x 1TB & 1 x 500GB internal SATA media drives, 3-Ware... [view my complete system specs]
