The silence has been deafening.

If you think about it anything that uses MXF is technically avid native. When I edit P2(avid native) or Sony EX Cam (Avid native) and even some AVCHD(mostly avid native) Stuff I don't have to transcode or go through some third party software to make it useable. I mean If I wanted to I could edit right from the frckin card or camera itself. For me to do that with FCP I have to buy a frickin $3000.00 bulky box on top of my camera investment. I have friends that I argue with about the cost of the avid DXmojo but they are perfectly fine with buying a $3000 Kona 3 plus the KIPro for $3000.00 not the mention the cartridges it uses. Yeah I know I am going to get the whole “It’s about the quality of the recorded codec” but if you are concerned about that then buy or rent the cameras that meet your quality needs. And my friends complain to me about Avid work arounds!
Reading this thread again, a question popped up.
Aren't all codec decoders always free and codec encoders protected by some kind of license agreement and therefor paid ? Is this also the case with DNxHD codec from avid?

Software activation AND dongle is better then only software activation.
A.V.I.D....... Another Version In Development
Yes, DNxHD is not free for redistribution. So any manufacturer who wants to use it has to pay a licensing fee. The end user is excused from paying for it.

So if AJA wants the ability to decode DNxHD, that is for free.
If they also want to encode DNxHD they need to pay a license fee.
Why is AJA then not implementing the DNxHD decoder?
Not sure I see where you are going with this. Why would AJA want to decode DNX? The Kia Pro is a recoreding device. It encodes with the ProRes codec.
Am I missing something in your comments?
Cheers,
Sorry Jef,
You're right. I forgot we're talking Kia Pro here not Kona... just disregard
No problem ..... I thought I was missing something basic ...
