    Default oval marker behavior

I've been using Media Composer for over a year now, and I just don't like the new way the colored oval markers are handled. In my old Xpress machine, when you hit the oval marker buttons, you woud just get a nice oval that would show up on your timeline and whatnot. Now, it seems I get a dumb dialog box that wants me to make notes and type stuff. Yuck. Also, I don't even see the ovals in my timeline.

Is there a way to change these setting back to Xpress behavior (just put the stupid oval down when I hit the button)? I find the default behavior in Media Composer to be unusable, and very much a hinderance to the editing process. Ideas?

    Hi,

In the lower left corner of the window that pops up is a hamburger menu.  Click on it and select Disable Locator Popup.

    good luck,

    Also, they are called "Locators".

I have also heard them referred to as "peanuts", which is why I have mine mapped to my "P" key.
