I would like to know what service pack I should have? I am running a Dell M65 notebook. I have XP Pro and am running MCSoft 2.8.3. I had to RE format my internal drive and am now trying to reinstall everything. But, I think the reformat in only put in service pack one. I am going to upgrade to 3.1.2. So, what service pack and QuickTime version should I be using?

Also, I have a G5 dual processor 2.0. Can I upgrade to 3.1.2? I realize that just moving up to 3.5 would be the best, however, I can’t afford to purchase to versions.

    Thanks for your help,

The answers to most of your questions are in the v3.1.2 ReadMe File.  Have you?  Read it?

Windows XP Professional with SP2 or SP3

    QuickTime Support 7.5.5

    Windows Media Player 11

You G5 will run v3.1.2, but v3.5 requires an Intel Mac.

    Media Composer 3.5.9/4.0.2 w/Mojo (analog), HP xw8400, 1xQC 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM, FX 3700, 1TB Boot, 1 x 1TB & 1 x 500GB internal SATA media drives, 3-Ware... [view my complete system specs]

Thanks for the information.  And no, I haven’t read the read me for 3.1.2 yet, because I haven’t been able to download it yet, because I haven’t purchased it yet.  So since I can’t download it, but haven’t been able to read it.

So, just so I got this right, at 2.8.3, I should be on service pack 2 or service pack 3.Is this correct?

    Thanks,
