while exporting mp3 music files from a flash drive/ I tunes, I sometimes get the message that " the header is not specified format. what is this and how can I correct it? Thank you.
Hi and welcome to the forums!
Couple of things. You say you're "exporting from a flash drive"; do you mean "importing"? Are you trying to bring the mp3 files into Avid?
Second, you've posted in the FreeDV forum, and your signature says NewsCutter. What product are you using?
good luck,Carl

sorry for the confusion, still figuring out this forum. importing-yes, and newscutter xp is the system in question.
where is the newscutter forum located, might I ask?
Hi,
Do you get the error message on all mp3 imports or just some of them?
p.s. I'm asking one of the NewsCutter guys where we're putting NewsCutter posts. When I get an answer, I'll move this thread there and let you know.
Error only on some of the mp3 imports, most go thru no prob. Trying to distinguish, It makes me wonder if I need to check a box somewhere or something simple like that.
Also, Thanks for the help with the newscutter posting
If some work and some don't, I'd be looking at the files that don't work to see what's different about them. If some of them are working, I think your Avid import settings are probably ok.
No problem on the posting thing. :)
I'm thinking the same thing. I'm taking the files from I tunes so I will start there. Thanks for the advice Cam
