Q. Will the $495 US MSRP upgrade price from Avid Xpress DV or Avid Xpress Pro to Avid Media Composer v4.0 Software be available only on the Avid webstore, or can I purchase it from a reseller?
A. The upgrade is available through three channels: The Avid webstore, Avid reseller channel as well as Avid directly.

Q. Can I download an upgrade from my Avid Xpress software to Avid Media Composer v4.0 on the Avid webstore?  If so, how much is the download?
A. Yes a download is available as well as a physical shipping kit.  The download does not include third-party software or documentation.  The cost of the Avid Xpress DV or Avid Xpress Pro to Avid Media Composer v4.0 Software download is $395 US MSRP.  The physical shipping kit is $495 US MSRP.

Q. I have an older version of Avid Xpress Pro and I would like to upgrade to Media Composer v4.0 software. Do I need to have the latest version of Avid Xpress Pro prior to upgrading?
A. No, the Avid Xpress Pro to Media Composer v4.0 upgrade applies to all versions of Avid Xpress Pro or Xpress DV.

Q. Do I need to uninstall Avid Xpress DV or Avid Xpress Pro before installing Media Composer v4.0?
A. Yes. If you do not completely uninstall XPress DV or Pro BEFORE installing Media Composer you may encounter issues.  Please make sure that you READ the ReadMe documentation prior to installing Media Composer.
