    InitializeAME() Failed

    After installing all of the components for an Instinct workstation, Launching the Instinct app results in a JE Fatal Error, with the info: "InitializeAME() failed."

    Does anyone know what this Error means and/or how to remedy it?

    Thanks!

    More details please. Particularly, the Java version and video driver version running on your Instinct clients.

    Re: InitializeAME() Failed

    Well, as it turns out, The whole problem centered aroung the nv4-mini.sys driver for the Nvidia cards on an HP platform. Just doesn't work. Set the whole thing on an Nvida Mobo with a core2 duo cpu, and voila! Instinct perfection. Assis works beautifully as well. The JAva version was 1.5 on the old machine, same on this one.

    Thanks for the update!

    If you don't mind, can you be specific with regard to the hardware config - HP & nVidia model #'s? Are your Instinct clients residing in ISIS Zone 4?

    I am facing a similar dilemma. Running Assist on PCs that my corporate IT department has provided.

    The MOBO is the Gigabyte EG45M-DS2H. That's a bout all I can say without possibly leaking engineering secrets... LOL!  seriously! :)

    But that should enable you to do some reverse engineering. Also Check out the New Mac Minis! They are essentially the same machine as what I'm running.

    Re: InitializeAME() Failed

    Hi,

    we can solve your problem with the following details:

    1. Hardware details:

    a) Hp Z400 workstation (with windows xp, sp3, 32-bit OS)

    b) NVIDIA Graphics card (this is must), with out this you will get fatal errors.

    c) Gigabit ethernetcard (this is must), without this we get errors

    2. Version numbers:

    a) Avid service framework--- 1.3.0.114

    b) ISIS Client manager------ 2.0.450(agent 2.0.1.450)

    c) Interplay access--------- 2.0.0.12415

    d) iNEWS ----------- 2.8.4.2

    e) Instinct-------- 2.1b5280

    My suggestion is, before going to launch Instinct make sure all versions numbers are correct.

    Try with above versions.
