    HDV quality

    Hi,

I'm sorry but I'm not very technical. I'm working on a serie of HDV small edits + some have also Dvcam rushes. When I output on dvcam my project, hdv looks really bad. Not speaking about effects! Every split screen is awful.  Is it better for me to redigitize in DV 420? What should I do to keep quality for a brodcastable product? Thank you.

Did you do a transcode or mixdown before outputting? Can you descriibe what you did in detail

Yes i've tried both, but the problem comes whenever I put the 1st effect: picture in pict or even the 16 9 resize. evrything that is dv an not hdv appears cleaner. Is it better to digitize in dv my hdv tapes?

what was your workflow? You might want to try to transcode HDV clips to DNxHD first. Is your project DV or HDV?

    Re: HDV quality

I've transcoded, done mixdown, Nothing is clean. I'm out of the office for one more week, as soon as i'm back, i'll try to do new tests and post results.

    Thanks
