We use the tiger flavour of MC 2.8.3 on our Unity Based systems and our off site laptop with local storage. It is sometimes a pain to keep both up to date media wise particularly as we opted to keep our sound as omfi wav and our picture as MXF. It's easy to do the picture as we just date our media folders and then FTP them to the offsite machine. But for OMFI on local drives you can't have multiple user folders, so it's a scan and relink which takes quite a bit of time AND you have to go into another standard Def OMF based project to get it to rebuilt the databases.
In the newer versions of MC 3.x and up, is the local storage organisation of OMFI media still the same? Does it all have to be in one folder?
If subfolders were allowed in OMFI it would make it much easier to check that both systems mirrored one another.

Yes.
Oh.
Thank you for your prompt reply Job ter Burg.
Does anybody have any good strategies for keeping an outboard local drive system in sync (both ways) with media on a Unity, particularly in the OMFI folders then?
