Relinking a Sequence with EX XDCAM footage, offline - online

    Hi,
Quick question guys I've tried searching the forums for this but can't find what I'm looking for!

I have a sequence which has been cut from XDCAM EX footage under a 25i Avid project, I now want to online at 1080p/25 in a new project - how would I relink the media on the drive to the sequence and in the process up res the sequence in the process, assuming that the media on the drive is already 1080i.

Is there someway of unlinking the clips or the timeline, infact can you do both? I can think how to do it in a tradition method but not sure with this new digital/clip browsing/card storing way of working...

    Thanks!

It depends. Were the clips transcoded to SD and for the edit? Was the AAF/OPatom method was used?       <http://snipurl.com/7kuqk> The sequence will only link to the media that was originally rewrapped. The media can't be recreated from the cards and relinked. As far as I can tell the Clip Browser software doesn't add a source so there's nothing for the Avid to link to.

If the MXF for NLE method was used. <http://snipurl.com/7kued> The MXF files can be recreated and batch imported.

If both the SD and HD media is available. It is a matter of changing the format tab to the HD project and relink the sequence to the highest quality.
