Using sony clip browser version 1 I trancoded footage shot on the EX1 at 1080p/25fps so I could get it into Avid.
I then import the footage using DNx 185.
Now I've finished the cut and am wondering if I should reimport the footage at 1:1 quality or leave it with 185?
Yours suggestions...
what is your final output format?
if you want to make a DVD, Blue Ray or anything for the web, I wouldn't reimport.
regards M.
Leave it with the DNxHD 185 since it is HD. 1:1 is SD.

no it's not necessarily SD. if you are in a HD format project and transcode or import you can select 1:1 or 1:1 X resolution. just take a look at the space required in the transcode sub-menu. you can't capture in 1:1 (at least the "old" adrenaline systems).

I'm not sure I understand. The V1 of the Clip Browser could only wrap the MP4 files as a MXF for NLE. This didn't require the video to be transcoded. The video codec selection in the import dialog was ignored during an import and the native XDCAM codec was used.
