I'm running Avid Xpress Pro 5.6.4 on an HP xw8200 workstation.
I brought in some footage off a P2 card by the general way I know how:
1. Copy the MXF files and corresponding audio files from the P2 card's folders to the avidmediafiles/mxf/1 folder on my project drive.
2. Delete the media databases in that folder.
3. Start up Avid and allow it to rescan and index the project drive, thereby reconstituting the media databses.
4. Open the media tool, selecting the project drive.
The trouble is that while most of the files show up and are able to be moved into bins and used with no problem, two of them - the two biggest by a wide margin - do not show up in the media tool, though they were copied to the avidmediafiles/MXF/1 folder.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on? Have I made a mistake in the above process?
Thanks!
As an alternative, try this 2-step process:
File > Import P2 > Clip to binFile > Import P2 > Media
