    Hi all,

Here's an update to my original answer:  With today's release of MC 3.0.5, Windows XP Service Pack 3 is approved.

    good luck,
    Carl

That page doesn't mention SP3 as being supported at all. However, the page for MC 3.0.5 in the download center most certainly does. Yes

    Hi,

That's just the thread that links to the download center page.  From there you can access the ReadMe, which has a compatibility chart listing Windows XP SP3 as an OS that works with 3.0.5.

    good luck,
    Carl

     Per the README_AvidMediaComposerv3.0_5.pdf

    Microsoft

Windows OS Windows XP Professional with SP2 or SP3.

Of course Avid also says in their documentation that a single processor would work in a xw8200 with a mojo installed...(which it doesn't). Wink  Found that one out the hard way.

Re: Will Avid Finally Certify Service Pack 3 for use with MC 3.0 ?

Before I installed the new MC 3.0.5 on my system, I installed service pack 3. Service pack 3 totally tanked my system ! All kinds of things just wouldn't work anymore, including my built in DVD burner, software to burn, UDF discs would no longer read, other funky system behavior. I rolled my system back to service pack 2, then installed new MC and all is well Big Smile

Upgraded to Media Composer from Avid Xpress Pro and now at MC 3.0.5, but had to roll back to 3.0.0. Also added Avid Studio Toolkit 5.7 running on.....HP... [view my complete system specs]

The thing is don't peak too early in life. Currently at MC 3.0
