Ok - we are now able to get an HD camcorder, and must do so quickly. Help! Panasonic? Sony? Formats? We are working on AVID Media Composer with Mojo, doing primarily corporate work.
P2 cards, CMOS . . . what to do? Any experiences or recommendations you may be able to share regarding camcorders in the under $12,000 range would be great, most especially regarding workflow and compatibility. Current camcorder is a Sony PD150, which has been great. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
This question is a lot like asking a quarter of a million random people for the name of favorite sports team. And you'll get about as many answer.
There are simply too many variable to even begin to answer until you provide a lot more detail about your work. What features do you think you need for your camera(s)? Are you thinking about going from a Mojo to a Mojo DX, in which case you'll probably want a camera with an SDI port? Do you want to go tapeless? And is HDV acceptable, or does it have to be full HD?
This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to questions. So think about what you think you really need.

Without any hesitation whatsoever, I recommend the Canon XL H1 HDV camcorder. This camera produces stunning results in both the image and sound category ! It shoots in SD 16: 9, SD 4:3 and HD 16:9. Interchangeable lenses and uncompressed HD-SDI output ! Go try one out. You will be amazed !
The thing is don't peak too early in life. Currently at MC 3.0
