    Removing an Overlap

    Removing an Overlap

After working on a transition and creating an overlap, you might decide that in fact a straight cut would work better. A quick way to turn an overlap back into a straight cut is to Command-drag (mac) or Ctrl-drag(windows)

    1. get in to Trim Mode.

    2. select the track that has been overlapped and deselect the track that is alredy a straight cut.

    3. Hold down the Command key(mac) or Ctrl key (windows) while you drag towards the straight cut. the trim will snap to the transition point..

over lapping means(when picture and its sound are cut at different points, u have an overlap. Some editor call these overlaps L-cuts.

    Re: Removing an Overlap

This is a bit confusing. What do you mean by "an overlap"? Do you mean a sement on v2 that extends past a cut on v1? If so, that's stil a cut, it's just built vertically rather than horizontally.

If this is the case, then your tip may be better titled "Snapping Dual Rollar Trim to a cut".

I'd say the Extend function is much faster for that.

Mark In or Out, hit Extend.
