After upgrading to Media Composer 2.8 from Express a few months ago, I noticed that the provided DVD authoring software, DVDit, did not seem to be compatible with an AC3 audio file. In my limited experience this audio file seems to be a bit of a standard...any body else having the problem?
thanks
Kevin
Hi kevin,
What version of DVDit are you using? And when did you get it ( with Xpress or MC 2.8)?
I know there is a standalone AC3 encoder but not sure if that affects your workflow. Get me some version info and when you got it and I can check for you.
BTW we now ship DVD by Sonic with MC systems.
Let me know.

Hi Marianna
Thanks for looking into this for me. I am using Media Composer 2.8.1. When I upgraded from Xpress (back in April) I installed DVDit, it came with MC. DVDit is 6.0 621B12B (not sure if those last numbers are important). I suppose it is not a big deal to loose AC3 files, they were smaller than the .wav's I have to use now and that was nice on big projects.
I do have MC 3 waiting in the wings and I'm just a little skittish about installing it. I guess I should just suck it up and install it!
