Hey there,Ok, here's the deal. I'm working with video clips and and a piece of audio. But, whenI open my AvidXpress program it says, 'No audio device' which I know is bull becauseI have a digi 002 rack with ASIO soundcard. When I imported my audio on the audio layers and tried to press play it says the same thing. So i'm not sure why it's saying this?! I triedlooking in the troubleshooting in my manual but it didn't say anything in there about howto make the program find and choose the soundcard by hand.Does anyone know why it's doing this and how I can get it to recognize my audio card (whichi KNOW exists because it plays everything else I have)I have AvidXPress version 4.8 and am running windows xp pro with plenty of ram and high processor speed.
also, apparently when i open my audio settings tab there is no soundcard configuration' in the project window/settings box either...and if i open up my audio suite, it says 'DAE not connected'?! which still doesn't make any sense because my soundcard is ON, if i go to my audio settings panel in the system folder, my digidesign 002R card is selected and applied. i've also re-installed Avid and that hasn't changed my situation.aggh..can anyone steer me in the right direction on this problem?! It seems odd that Avid doesn't have anywhere in its program a place to open up and 'choose' the card manually so that it will re-recognize it. If anything, the designers of the program should have gave a baby option to guide it along...
wow. nobody knows anything about this problem?! i did a search on the forums for 'No DAE' and a lot of what i read is that the Avidsupport doesn't even have a solution for this..they just tell you to 'upgrade' to thenewer 5.1 version and it will 'most likely' fix the problem.???
do you have a mojo?

also do you have pro tools installed? if so avid and protools use a diff. driver
no, i purposefully removed Pro Tools from my system mostly because I don't even use it. I just use the digidrivers for my audio card (digi002 rack).i also don't use it for that reason...that it might conflict with Avid...so if i don't have Pro Tools running...then...i really don't see what else is taking away my audio device...strange
What is the ASIO soundcard? Avid kinda prefers SoundBlaster ...

How do you find out what specific soundcard you have?! Let me know and I'll post. All I know is that I have a digi002 rack, so i guess the card is inside there..but i don't know anything beyond it being 'ASIO'. it's a 'digi' card i guess..lol..idk
