Hi guys
I have to edit a feature film shot on XDCAM HD 35mbps 25p (PAL). I need to know the what the recommended workflow is, as well as how to keep the BEST quality throughout. The film is for cinema release and I will be working on it for a while.
I am upgrading to MC3.0. What codec is best for import, effects, GFX and rendering colour correction?
Any other advice will be welcome.
Thx

There is native support for the XDCAM HD 35Mb codec in the Media Composer. This tutorial covers the XDCAM SD but the workflow is the same: <http://learn.avid.com/content/tutorials/XDCAM/tutorial.html>
What format do you have to deliver on? With the DX hardware you could perform a digital cut straight to without a transcode.

The film is for the big screen therefore I have to work in the best resolution possible. When I import the HQ clips, I have to pick a resolution (120, 185 etc.), which is BEST?
Those setting are ignored when XDCAM HD is imported. The native XDCAM HD codec will be used. In the end, the clips can be transcoded to a DNxHD codec. The larger the number the less compression and the X stands for 10bit color.
