    upgrade Dongle problem

It's a long story and I hope someone can help. 2 years ago my dongle was corrupt after a while it was replaced and  I didn't know that i got a new dongle with a new dongle serial number.that's the problem, 2 months ago when I tried to upgrade from Xpress 5.6 to MC 2.5 I used the old dongle serial number, I got an Updater file and couldn't upgrade (because I used the wrong serial number) and it's too late to try and use the new number because I get the message that the Avid System ID was used allready.

    Any ideas on that?

At the head of this forum is a thread titled "Please read before posting a message about a dongle".  It will probably help you.

    Re: upgrade Dongle problem

     Thanks Jwrl,

I tried that and even used the link to Avid warranty email and got back automated response that says nothing about my problem.

Again my problem is that I used the wrong Dongle Serial Number. And now when I try to put the correct Dongle Serial number I get the error- "That Upgrade key is either invalid or has already been used"

    That's it.

warranty@avid.com will have to reset your database info on the Avid system, and send you a replacement updater file that matches your Dongle ID/Serial Number.  When did you get your automated response?

     Hi Randall,

I got the response 1 minute after I sent my question it was 7 hours ago.

OK ... it can take a few hours, or even a day to get a response.  Hopefully, the post here will expedite things.

I will get my answer even if I don't have an Avid Support contract ?
