Guys,
I know this is a stupid question (which I just realised that I don't know) but, what are the standard lines for VITC in HD (1080/50i and 1080/59.94)?
Can't find the answer anywhere.
Cheers.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing. I would have thought that it only applied to analog formats.
Close Captionining in HD is carried as anxilliary data in the HAN/VANC areas of the signal. VITC is an analog format.

Guys, thanks for the response, but now I am confused.
On both our SR and HDCAM decks there are VITC menus:
610 VITC (SD)
611 VITC Pos1 (N) Line 16
612 VITC Pos2 (N) Line 18
616 VITC Pos1 (P) Line 19
617 VITC Pos2 (P) Line 21
These are set to their default, so if HD doesn't have VITC, why the menus? Are these just for their DownConverts?
Yes, it appears that these settings determine which line VITC is inserted on output (downconvert).
This and more exciting information in the manual:

Thanks Haze, been looking for that
