File does not contain a valid domain header

I have a BIG problem. I have worked for weeks with a project and now I cant open the bin. I get the answer "Unable to open the file "test bin". File does not contain a valid domain header". This is a disaster for me, I was just ready with everything yesterday night and now I come back this morning to read this... The size of the bin is 1,939 kb, so hopefully I just cant see it? Please guide me through this, I have been reading some of the ads on this subject but I am not good at all with computers!

    Best Wishes

That usually means that the file is corrupted. Can you open a copy of it from your Attic?

I copied the file in the attic. When I opened it from Avid I got an error message that said that I have to move the copy to the projects folder.

I copied the bin to the project folder, renamed it and tried to open it through open file in avid. Same result.

I have tried to create a new project and open the bak.100 there but it doesnt work.

In the attic I have one version bak.100 that is much bigger than the others and as recent as it gets. Unfortunately I cant open this file. The previous backup version has very little material in it but I can recover it through copying to the desktop and open it in avid.

What puzzles me is that the successfully opened bins name is "...99.avb" and the bin that causes error has the name: "...avb.100".

I use win2000 and I have to downgrade to service pack 1 in order to import from my camcorder. Do I have to downgrade before export as well? But then again, the problems appeared already in avid before export..
