Dream Edit Suite for mid/high-end price?

Hello, I'm working with a large corporation on developing it's own internal video production studio. Currently i'm working in the call center using high-end headphones :S. I'll finally be getting my own studio space along with a seperate edit suite. So here I am looking for suggestions for the edit suite.

No need for any suggestions in terms of CPU/software/etc..., as it's not too hard to determine what's the best for that .

More so interested in the 'little' things. Brief list could be items such as specific tables, chairs, fancy mouses, ergonomic keyboards, certain types of lights/lighting, etc...
Budget is around the mid/high-end of things (e.g. a $200 mouse is reasonable). I'd say that my ergonomics would be of the most extreme importance. Even if it's an ugly pink, i'll gladly buy it if it provides for superior ergonomics.

"No need for any suggestions in terms of CPU/software/etc ..."

Um, sure there is.  Are you looking at Media Composer, Symphont Nitruis, or DS Nitris?  SD, HD, or 4:4:4?  Stand-alone storage or shared?  Also ... please define your interpretation of mid/high-end price.  It's not uncommon to spend $100k - $200k on an editing suite.

"Currently i'm working in the call center ..." and "I'd say that my ergonomics would be of the most extreme importance ..."

Based on that perspective, you're not the one who should be designing an editing suite.

For overhead track lighting that will make your work surface seem to self-illuminate with no spill onto monitor screens, I recommend Lightolier Framing Projectors. Your platform should be in an enclosure, preferably with a sliding glass door entrance, that is acoustically isolated from other standard office work environments, as audio is a very big element in editing, and mixing with headphones is just not accurate when the track is played on speakers. You need to do your final mix with speakers at a decent enough level to hear the subtleties of the mix ratios - ergo the need for isolation.

And a good control room chair is essential as well. Personally, I prefer and use model 902.

    Larry,

Those are definitely high end lights! Do you have a pic that illustrates the illunination effect that you can share?

I don't have a picture handy, but what you have is essentially barn doors inside the housing that allow you to precisely shape the light exactly to specific surface with a very tight cut-off. That is what prevents any spillover beyond the shaped area you want, ergo the appearance of self-illumination. It's important that the ceiling mount be SLIGHTLY FORWARD of your facial plane - if they're behind your shoulder, you'll wind up working in your own shadow.

I think the AKA tables are worth a look. Sooner or later I will get one, that's for sure. For example the ProEdit.
