For anyone interested, Nvidia released new Geforce drivers on Monday, June 23. The new version is 175.19. I have no idea if these have any effect on Avid, but I know that in the past, new drivers have sometimes helped with Avid compatibility. I see a lot of people mentioning Geforce cards on this forum, so I thought they might be interested in this.

Note the below posting.
NVIDIA released a new driver for the FX3700 card. Customers are NOT recommended by Avid to upgrade to this newer version as you will see a major hit in performance if you do. Please see the KB posting below:http://avidtechnology.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/avidtechnology.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=75993
I will check on this and see if the recommendation still stands.

The only Nvidia driver supported for the the 3.0 release is 169.47 (for NewsCutter, Media Composer, and Symphony) on the PC (workstations only, not laptops).
The newer drivers have not and will not be tested until the next release and I dont have any information to relay on when that next release will be :)

Marianna,
Thanks for pointing that out.
On this note, do you happen to know if the issue with performance is specific to the FX3700, or if other Quadros are also effected (like the FX1700, for example)? Please note that I fully realize that only the 169.47 drivers are officially supported by Avid. I'm still curious, however, about the specifics of the problem pointed out in the KB article, and whether or not THAT specific problem is unique to the FX3700, or it if effects other Quadros.
The reason I ask is because it can sometimes solve problems with OTHER applications (effects/graphics apps, transcoding apps, etc.) to update drivers before Avid "officially" supports them, which as you know can sometimes take quite a while. It's therefore extremely useful to know if Avid specifically knows of actual problems with certain drivers and certain cards, or if they're simply not officially supporting drivers since they haven't tested them. In other words, there's a huge difference between simply not having tested drivers, and actually knowing of a problem.
Thanks for any details on this,
