Has anyone experienced an issue with multicam in V2.8 up?
Basically the problem seems to relate to re-ordering the clips in the source monitor. As soon as you do this the active camera in the source monitor (green line) doesn't correspond to what's appearing on the record side. Selecting camera 4 for example might select camera 2.
If you don't re-order the clips then all is fine. The editor working on this project is adamant that it worked on 2.7, and to have to reorder the clips before making the group clip would be more time consuming.

Brian
I made a mistake... I am the editor quoted above as saying that 2.7 multi-camera worked like a charm.
I have just confirmed with my colleague that the version of MC with MULTI-CAM working like a charm is in fact...2.2.10. My bad
In the older version, I did not need to group my clips in any particular order, I simply selected the clips to be grouped then grouped them. When I came to work on that group, I would go into Multicamera mode and on the left monitor, organise my cameras as I needed them,[CNRL + LEFT CLICK and slecect the camera from the list]
I could fill the camera bank with upto 9 cams at a time in alphbetical order without any issues, then cut in multicamera mode albeit with a few dropped frames here and there :)
If you have a similar issue Brian S has suggested the following work flow as a solution.
a) Create a new bin
b) drop the clips into the new bin in the order you wish your cameras to be listed within the group
c) select all clips and group
This results in the grouped clips taking the order from the bin.. in my case CamA=f9 CamB=f10, CamC=f11, CamD=f12
neat and tidy but slightly slower :)
Can anyone else confirm that the multi-cam in ver 2.8.x causes problems if you alter the camera order within the grouped clips? (SEE Brian S post)
I can confirm that you can re-order clips as John says in 2.2.x and multicam works fine, but in 2.7 / 2.8 it is well and truly broken . . .
Thanks B.S.
