We have a project that was worked on this weekend and they experienced weird bin activity.  Some bins opened fine, some bins took longer to open...apparently up to 20 seconds  This was noto related to bin size, nor is the project overly big, but it seems it was only happening on certain bins...everytime...on multiple systems.  The project is stored on Unity, and there were 2 room sworking on it this weekend. 

We didn't have these problems on Friday...they showed up on Saturday, and apparently was better on Sunday...as I didn't get any calls.

Still getting info from the people invovled, but I did suggest the unity workspace be optimzed and synchronized on Sunday morning...I don't know what time this was done, if it was before the session, or during the sessioin, but like I said, I didn't get any calls on Sunday about it.

Any ideas as to what caused it?  I'm trying another project and File/Open Bin to see if that does anything to help...it is still happening, but the longest the bins are taking to open now is under 5 seconds...most open right up.

I would suggest you try re-starting File Manager and see if the problem persists.

i did notice just now, opening the same bin over and over again that sometimes the bin opens up right away, sometimes it takes a couple seconds...

 okay, shut down file manager, restarted it, came back to my workstation, shut down connection manager, restarted it, re-launched MCA.....still doing the same thing....hmmmm

I moved the project to the local machine, and it seems to not exhibit the same characteristics...bins open up right away...even after 15-20 bins being open....they still open right up...so it looks like a Unity issue, or maybe just a Unity SOP...i'll try giving them a call and see what I can find out.
