    Can't get my Mojo workin'!

Help!  I just bought a used Mojo off someone -- very nice person who will give me my money back if I can't get this thing to work.

    Here's what I've got, system-wize:

Cutting on Avid Xpress Pro v5.8 (Academic)
Using a Mac Pro Tower with OS 10.4.11

Don't know if this is important, but the Mojo was previously being used with a PC.

I plug in the Mojo correctly, separate bus, etc.  When the Mojo comes on, the lights for POWER and HOST are lit.  My Mac does recognize the Mojo through Firewire.

When I open Avid Xpress Pro, I get a "Power Up Error" and am asked to close the program and power-cycle the hardware, which I've done numerous times, and it still doesn't work.

    I've tried:

    Different power supplies/cables

    Different firewire cables

    Re-installing Avid Xpress Pro

I am taking the Mojo tomorrow to try on a different computer, but the seller assured me he has never had any problems with it.  I tried e-mailing Avid Tech Support, but didn't really get an answer.  Also talked with some local tech guys from where I work, and they couldn't figure it out.  They told me that having Academic version and the fact that the Mojo was previously used on a PC don't matter -- it should still work.

Any other thoughts on what I can try?  Why isn't this working?

    Thanks!

The Power up error means that the incorrect version of firmware is on your Mojo.

Unfortunately, the only way to re-flash the firmware is to load an older version of the software (Like 4.8.x), launch it and let the software re-flash the Mojo and then to load the current version and let if update the firmware.

And you'll need to find a older Mac or any PC to load a old version of Xpress Pro as 4.8 won't work on a Mac Pro.

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube. The Cube doesn't do much but it looks cool. [view my complete system specs]
Must think of something clever to go here...
