    23.97fps avid project..how to save/convert into 29.97fps project?

I shot on a dvx100b 24p standard, and I captured the footage into a 23.97fps format avid project.  But now I need it to be 29.97fps?  Is there any way that I can convert this to that fps?

Also, I exported an AAF file for someone so they can edit as well, but they need to be in a 29.97 working environment for this project.  How do I turn the timeline/bin with clips (or AAF/OMF file) into a 29.97fps compatible?

Thanks in advance, your helps is very much appreciated.

You can't change the OMF. You can create an EDL that is 29.97. You can export QT and then converting them.

You can Digitial Cut your sequence as 30i. Make sure you are in Green/Green mode.

To some degree you can convert a 24fps sequence to 30fps.  This is done frequently by film editors to do a hi-rez version as a viewing copy.  The media must be recaptured however.  The audio could be output to tape, and the finished hi-rez added to it.  Although a bit dated, here's some info to get you going ...

Why did you shoot 24 to begin with?

I think we need a few more digital HD formats

Hi Don, I tried using AVid EDL but i'm not sure if i'm doing it right.  I tried but no success yet.

    Randall, thanks for the article.

Ok, so I opened the EDL on avid.  Then on the EDL manager I went to file>>open>>then I loaded my AAF file into the EDl.  Then the EDL has all the info on the file.  So next, I tried to follow the article above (though am still quite lost) but what I did was try to save it as an OMFI.  Upon saving it it stated that it had errors saving it...  not sure what to do now.

    Thanks!

Ps: guywithcat, I shot 24p because it has a nice look to it, different than standard video.
