    Xpress OMF to MC

Sorry if this has been mentionned, but I want to make sure that I don't run into any issues with this.

I have a colleague who has captured some footage for me in Xpress. It was captured in DV50 in the OMF file format. The OMF files were then copied over over to an external hard drive that I will receive later today. I will then transfer these files onto my MC (2.8). I was just wondering where these files should go on my media drive. Usually I capture in MXF format, and know where to drop these files, but this will be my first time working with OMF....can someone please let me know where these files should go.....should I create a new folder, or does MC create all appropriate folders when installed.

Sorry if this is a basic question. I have edited for years, but have been on Avid products for under a year (I use Symphony Nitris and MC and love using them).

    Thanks

On the root level of your media drive, you should have a folder named OMFI MediaFiles.

Symphony Nitris 3.0 on 2xquad core XW8400/4(??)GB | MC 3.0 on dual core XW8400/3GB | Mojo SDI | Unity Lanshare 4.23 fibre | MC 3.0 on MacBook 2.16/2.5GB... [view my complete system specs]

     Thanks,

I see that folder on the Symphony....I am not in front of MC at the moment, but will check. Do I just drop the files into that folder, or is there another sub folder that I need to create inside the OMFI folder.

Thanks so much for your help

No.  Just copy the omfi files into the folder as it is.
